About Amb. Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino

Ambassador of Malaysia in Rome

Ambassador Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino has been serving in the Malaysian government and the Malaysian Foreign Service for 22 years. He has a Bachelor of Management (Economy), from University Science Malaysia and holds a Diploma of Public Administration from National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).

Apart from serving as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Italy, H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malik is also concurrently accredited to the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of San Marino.

He previously held the post of Special Officer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.

Throughout his career, H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malik has served in High Commission of Malaysia, London, United Kingdom and High Commission of Malaysia, Lagos, Nigeria.


About Amb. Cristiano Maggipinto

Ambassador of Italy in Kuala Lumpur

Ambassador Cristiano Maggipinto embraces the diplomatic career in 1989 and, having served with the General Directorate for Economic Affairs dealing with market economy countries and European internal affairs, he is sent to Tel Aviv as First Secretary of the Italian Embassy.

In 1997 he moves to Bonn and then to Berlin, where he is in charge of the large Italian community residing in Germany.

Back in Rome, he serves as Chief of Staff of the General Directorate for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies and in 2006 he is appointed Consul General in Houston.

From Houston he is transferred to the Embassy in Washington as Head of the coordination department of all the Italian Consulates in the United States and of the relations with the Italian Community.

He returns to Rome in December 2013 and serves at the General Directorate for Development Cooperation, dealing mainly with the Directorate’s participation at Expo Milan 2015, before being transferred to Kuala Lumpur to assume the role of Ambassador of Italy to Malaysia.
